Idaho StormIdaho StormIdaho Downpour
Island Park, Idaho

On our fourth day on the road and the final push north before we turned east for Maine we stayed in a Glamping site in Idaho, just 20 miles from Yellowstone NP. We were there for two nights and this is what we experienced the first night. The two cattle and a dozen or so others were heading for some wooded area right of frame. The storm hit us a bit later but we were already snug in our Glamping bed.

It wasn't bad at all; quiet, spacious, and a herd of free-range cattle to visit now and then.  The cattle would wander around the Glampground and lick the community fire pits to get the potassium. I considered buying them a bunch of bananas. We parked right next to the tent which made it very convenient. Buddy didn't seem to like the cows.

What a sky! And you show why this rain is called a downpour. Pouring is definitely what it is doing.

I'd never heard of glamping until you mentioned it. Always something new. :-) Those look kinda like yurts.

I looked into glamping like that near Moab. Seems you liked the experience. Interesting how we call in glamping when some call it home. Love those clouds!!!

Wow, that is beautiful! My old stomping grounds... Everyone should hang with the cows at least once in their life, even Buddy. Broadens his horizons. He might run into a cow or 2 out there in Maine!!

Now, that is the type of camping I could get into at this point in my life. Looks very comfortable. Going to have to check it out.

Wow, that's a kind of camping I could see myself doing as well. :)

I wonder if it's really potassium the cows are after. I remember an occasion of screaming hikers in the alps in Austria; they were sweaty and sat down to have their snacks when a cow walked right up to them and licked the sweat of their arms! xD
